Our Story
Captain Group’s journey began in 1982 in the vibrant city of Aqaba. What started as a modest family-owned seafood restaurant quickly expanded with the addition of a unique camping experience located in the breathtaking Wadi Rum desert. This camp offers guests an authentic connection with nature and the stunning desert landscapes, enriching the group’s hospitality offerings. Building on this success, Captain Group later established a boutique hotel to provide premium accommodation and hospitality services.

Captain Group was founded in 1982 by Abdul Fattah Abu Taleb — the visionary who established our iconic restaurant, seaside camp, and boutique hotel.

With over four decades of experience in the hospitality sector, Osama Abu Taleb has led Captain Group to become one of Aqaba’s most recognized hospitality brands. Under his leadership, the company has expanded its services, offering exceptional dining, boutique accommodations, and memorable leisure experiences for guests from around the world.
In addition to his role at Captain Group, Mr. Abu Taleb actively contributes to community development as President of Hayat Association in Aqaba, and plays a key role in supporting the region’s economic growth as a Board Member of the Aqaba Chamber of Commerce.
His vision, leadership, and commitment to excellence continue to drive Captain Group’s growth and reputation, both locally and internationally.
